Follow Your Dreams

Following our dreams the most important asset of our lives. you could lose everything that life has ever offered to you; your riches, everything you have ever bought, the clothes you wear, even you dignity and purity... but the one thing that no one can ever take away from you is your dream.

the one thing that humanity shares in common is the fact that each and every single person has his/her own dream.

when i was little i dreamed to become a cashier (i thought that i got to keep all the money that goes into the cash register =] ). i was told to choose a profession where i would earn riches and be able to build my mom a house on the mountains on the way going to LA. when i found out that i don't get to keep all the loads of money that goes into the cash register i decided i wanted to be a writer. i wanted to write everything i saw, everything i felt. i planned to be a journalist and take up journalism when i became a big girl. writing was my passion, it was what i was good at and what i knew i wanted to do.

when i got older, i lost my writing ability and i found a passion for arts. i planned to take up fine arts and become an interior designer... but no school nearby had the course. So i took up psychology... because i wanted to find out what was with people that aroused my passion for writing and arts.

psychology, though was not my first choice, opened my eyes to what i have been so blind to see.

even though life brings us through several different path ways and we go astray from what we plan our lives to be, there is always only one destination to all those paths: our dream.

we could achieve our dream regardless of what path we take. if we make our own ends meet then life would be at our feet. we control what happens in life. while in psychology, i found what i was looking for. i found what arouse my fascination. everybody is different and unique, everyone has a mind of there own and everyone has a dream of their own.

my passion of writing gradually came back and my love for art grows more and more. fulfilling your dreams doesn't necessarily mean giving up on everything else. i am satisfying my fascination of people as a living while i continue to pursue my passion of writing and art. my dream has come true. it takes a little self actualization to realize that you are, yourself, living the dream.

The Will to Meaning

"Without suffering and death, human life cannot be complete." - Viktor Frankl (1905 - 1997)

The will to meaning profoundly surpasses the will to pleasure (Freud) and the will to power (Adler). Our lives are not meant for us to invent meaning of our existence but we are intended to discover it.

In life there is always one question certain to come around: why am I here. There is no specific answer to this question because every single person is unique and every experiences differs from person to person. What is said to be significant is relative. It is the pure drive of a person to want to find out what is the meaning of his life personally. Following our dreams and letting our hearts love, remembering that God only gives us trials that we can handle. In our search for the meaning of life, we surrender ourselves completely to a supra-being and assure ourselves that we will find what we are looking for. and when we do, we can have self-transcendence.

Growing gracefully is such a beautiful thing that most people seem to miss. Self-actualization is vital in our search for meaning because, when we self-actualize we get to know ourselves better. We get to hear what our souls what us to hear, we can become one with ourselves.

Accepting life as one big wholesome experience is the most healthiest thing a person can do. In this way, the person develops a positive outlook towards life and its challenges. If we give up in our search for life, or if we reach a dead end, we experience frustration with our will to meaning. We experience noogenic neurosis, or metaphorically "existential vacuum", when we give meaning to that frustration, when we tend to focus on everything that is negative.

One must always believe that GOD PROVIDES even if in the slightest way. Those who fail to realize the graces that God shed upon us will eventually die bitter. No good will come to those who sit in bitterness as they watch others move on in their lives.... GOD PROVIDES it is just a matter of noticing it.
